Mahesh Mahadev is an International award-winning Indian film score composer, songwriter, lyricist, singer, music educator, mentor and voice trainer. A multifaceted creative and sound professional, he is also a successful entrepreneur, painting artist, sculptor, graphic & motion designer. As Founder & Managing Director of Shivashakthi Group of Companies and PM Audios & Entertainments, and Managing Director of PRISM Recording Studios and PRISM Foundation – International School of Music and Arts, Mahesh has built a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in music, visual arts and design.
His artistic journey began with painting and design, where he showcased exceptional talent in visual expression. In 1998, he established Shivashakthi Group, pioneering branding, design and visual-arts services in India. Later, in 2014, he launched PM Audios & Entertainments and Mugus Records, record labels and entertainment company that further expanded his creative footprint.
As a Music Composer, he composed evocative film scores, private album songs that seamlessly blend Indian & Western classical traditions with modern sensibilities, earning numerous prestigious international awards and nominations. He has also invented over 50 Indian classical ragas, enriching its repertoire. He has written and composed songs in over 18 languages in Indian and foreign languages across a spectrum of styles: Film, Carnatic, Hindustani and Western music. His latest album, Meera – The Way of the Storm, featuring his original compositions for every track, earned him the “Best Male Album of the Year” award from the International Singer-Songwriters Association (ISSA). He was also recognized with ISSA’s “Vocal Duo of the Year” honor, with both awards presented in Atlanta, USA.
In recognition of his contributions to music education, Mahesh received the “Best Educator Award” from the internationally renowned Trinity College London. He created a new musical genre for film called “Popular Music” and crafted a comprehensive syllabus that positioned PRISM as the first music school in the country to offer a meticulously structured curriculum for film music. This initiative was aimed at equipping aspiring musicians with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the competitive world of film music. As a music educator he offers one-on-one mentorship and voice training, nurturing new talent through tailored lesson plans that address each student’s unique strengths and goals. He remains deeply engaged in painting, sculpture, graphic design, and motion graphics, consistently exploring new techniques and challenging the limits of creative expression.
